Caucasus Jazz Festival 2010
Sample ImageThe Embassies of USA in South Caucasus States – Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan initiated a very unique and interesting project – “Caucasus Jazz Festival 2010”. The project aim is to bring the talented musicians from the region together and promote peace and tolerance through Jazz music. Quote from the welcome message of USA Ambassador in Georgia – Mr. John Bass:
“The differences that may divide people, whether they arise from language, ethnic origin, religion, gender or politics, can all be bridged by music. Good music has the power to inspire the best in all of us: joy love and compassion. I salute all our partners in South Caucasus for their contributions to this festival, and I hope that events like this one will promote greater cooperation and understanding between the people and countries of the region and the United States”
The YMCA of Georgia works actively to promote the values of tolerance and understanding among the people of the region and is currently involved in regional project “Roots for Reconciliation” that serves the same cause.
And Jazz program has been one of the most successful program components in YMCA work in Georgia recently – so it is very honorable that the Embassy of the USA in Georgia acknowledged the work and efforts of YMCA of Georgia in the field and invited the organization as the official partner of the Festival.
